Your donation does much more than help families escape from unsafe, unhealthy living conditions. It is also an investment in a families future. By breaking the cycle of poverty families are able to build long term financial security. Because of Habitat's affordable, zero interest, no-profit house payments, families are able to free up money for other necessities such as food, medicine and child care. Research has shown that decent housing improves health, increases children's educational achievement and strengthens community ties.

According to Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI):

"Investing in a Habitat family creates a brighter future for the children in Habitat homes."

"Did you know that children who live in inadequate housing have lower educational achievement and are more likely to be impoverished and unemployed as adults? The good news is that, according to the Harvard Center on Housing, a dollar invested in housing has a greater impact on a child’s long-term well-being than a dollar invested in health or education."

The generosity and ongoing support of area businesses, organizations and individuals has always made our success possible. Donations of cash, building materials, and other in-kind gifts, as well as many hours of volunteer labor, come together to make dreams come true!

Becoming a member of the Habitat team means supporting our community. However you choose to get involved, we appreciate your support!

Donation Guide

Monetary Donations

One of the easiest ways to support Habitat is through a monetary donation. Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, so your gift is tax-deductible. Your donations will help us give a hand up to people right here in the Greater Manchester area, allowing us to purchase materials needed to build a home. It also allows us to hire contractors to do specialized work such as electrical, plumbing and paving.

Almost all donations go directly into our housing projects. Your donation will truly have an impact and will go towards purchasing needed items like those listed in the Quick Gift Guide. You can donate online using our secure PayPal site, where you can contribute a one-time donation or set up a monthly payment to help us now and in the future. Lunch Providers

Love to cook for a crowd?

With all the hard work we put our construction volunteers through, we like to provide them with lunches! Church groups, youth groups and individuals provide most of the lunches, but by spreading the need, we will not over burden any one provider. We can still use a few more lunch providers for our volunteer work crews. This is a great way for children under 16 to be able to help at the work site.

What are we looking for? Some ideas are box lunches, pizza, hot dogs on a grill, or grocery store certificates to buy lunch items. If you can help one time or be an on-going provider, let us know.

We love pampering our volunteers, so if you would like to help with lunches, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (603) 626-3944 or e-mail volunteer@habitatmanchester.org

Donating Land or a House

One of the biggest expenses of building a home is the land. We rely on the generosity of others to help us obtain properties. In addition to raw land, we can work with properties that have a building on it, may be considered “un-buildable”, is part of a subdivision, bank-owned, part of an estate, and many other situations. We are always willing to discuss if a property would be suitable for a Habitat Home. Municipalities are often willing to work with us because of a shortage of affordable housing and we may be able to get a variance that would be unavailable otherwise.

GMHFH has built and renovated single and multifamily homes. In addition to individuals, faith groups, municipalities and businesses often have property available. We would be interested in working in a subdivision where we could complete multiple houses over several years. Many Habitat Affiliates have successfully created homes that seamlessly blend in, while still remaining “simple and decent”.

If you own a property or know of one that may be available, please contact us. We are always looking for properties that can be donated or purchased at a steep discount and are willing to investigate the suitability to become a future Habitat home. Regardless of the situation, please contact us at land@habitatmanchester.org

We still have $150,000 left to raise in order to complete Hosley Street.
Every donation, no matter the amount, gets us closer to our goal!

Thank you for your support of Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity.
